Free WordPress plugin for lunch restaurants

The lunch menu that updates itself

Write the week's lunch once. Your site shows the right day every day, the old menu disappears on its own, and the same button gives you a ready-made image for Facebook and Instagram.

Works in Divi 5, Elementor, the block editor and with any theme.

Today's lunch · Sunday 11.10.

Lunch is served on weekdays.

Lounas ma–pe klo 10.30–14.00

Next lunch: Monday 12.10.

  • Hernekeitto LG
  • Pannukakku ja mansikkahillo L
  • Kasvissosekeitto VEG

This card is Luntsi's own Divi 5 module showing an example restaurant's menu (in Finnish). The day changes by itself, even behind a cache.

Sound familiar?

The menu is on Facebook, while last month's lunch is still on the website

The lunch menu is made into a Facebook image every week. The website never gets updated, or last month's menu is still hanging there. Search engines can't read an image, and customers can't find today's lunch where they look for it.

Luntsi fixes this without a monthly fee.

How it works

Three steps, no upkeep

Luntsi's weekly editor

01

Write the week once.

One dish per line, markings after it: Pea soup (L, G). "Copy previous week" fills in the basics, so you only change what's different. Next week's menu can be written in advance.

The whole week's lunch menu on a page

02

The site does the rest.

The front page shows "Today's lunch" and the lunch page shows the whole week. When the week changes, the old menu hides itself. The right day is picked in the visitor's browser, so not even a cache shows yesterday's lunch.

Ready-made image for Facebook and Instagram

03

An image for social media with one click.

The week's menu as a ready-made image with your logo and colour: A4 for Facebook and 4:5 for Instagram. On a phone the image opens straight in the share sheet.

What's included

N

Finnish public holidays built in.

Good Friday, Ascension Day, Midsummer and the rest are marked closed automatically. If you're open on a holiday, you open the day with one setting.

N

Restaurants in Finland must display the origin country of meat in writing, and Luntsi shows it next to the menu.

N

Diet markings.

L, VL, M, G, K and VE out of the box, and you can edit them.

N

Prices, lunch hours and "lunch includes".

All in one place, shown next to the menu.

The Lunch editor role can update the menu but nothing else on the site.

N

How is Luntsi different from lunch services?

A plugin for your own site, no monthly fee

A lunch menu can also be handled with a subscription service. They are good solutions, but they do a different job:

Broad restaurant tools

monthly fee

Include, besides the menu, things like recipes, stock management and social media automation.

Local lunch listing sites

monthly fee

Bring visibility on local lunch sites, from which the customer is sent on to the restaurant's own website.

Luntsi is a plugin for your own site. The menu lives in your own WordPress, it isn't rented, and there is no monthly fee. If all you need is a working lunch menu on your own site, free Luntsi is enough. Pro costs about as much per year as the services cost in a month or two.

For web agencies

Made for agencies that build restaurant websites

Native modules for Divi 5 and Elementor, blocks and a shortcode for everything else, and a dedicated role for the kitchen so the client can't break the site. The five-site Pro licence is €199 a year and unlimited is €399 a year.

FAQ

Questions and answers

Do I need Pro?

Not necessarily. The free version is enough when you have one location and one lunch line. Pro is needed if, for example, you offer a lunch and a soup lunch with their own prices, or you have several locations.

Does it work with Divi 4?

Yes, with the [luntsi] shortcode in a Text or Code module. The native modules are for Divi 5.

Will visitors see yesterday's lunch if the site has a cache?

No. The page carries the current and next week's menu, and the right day is picked in the visitor's browser. Luntsi also clears the most common caches when you save and right after midnight.

Is the image made on your server?

No. It is drawn in your own browser and downloaded or shared directly from there.

Can kitchen staff update the menu without access to the rest of the site?

Yes. Give them the Lunch editor role and they land directly on the lunch menu after logging in.

We're open on a public holiday.

Open the day in the editor with "Open on this public holiday", or turn off the automatic holidays in the settings.

Does Luntsi post the menu to Facebook automatically?

No. Luntsi makes the ready-made image and you post it yourself. On a phone it's two taps.

Will you install Luntsi for us?

Yes. Mainos21 installs and styles Luntsi on your site. Ask for a quote on the support page.
